Department of Religion
About the Department
Religion is an essential part of humanities studies in any liberal arts education. Studying religion is one way to establish a view of reality, and an understanding of the meaning of human existence as lived by both individuals and social organizations in relation to ultimate reality, however that reality is understood.
Historically, human beings have articulated moral ambitions, human possibilities, and cosmic understandings through the myths, hymns, rituals, and institutions of varied religious traditions.
